My name is Johnnita Woods Parker, and I am the World Cares Center programs manager. I am a National Heath Care Disaster Professional, Nurse Practitioner Board Certified, with a background in family medicine, and have been a certified Trainer in CPR and First Aid for 20 years.
As Program Manager, I oversee the development and delivery of World Cares Center’s disaster readiness programs, manage trainers and support teams, collaborate on outreach initiatives, and ensure alignment with grant and strategic objectives. I also support organizational growth, partner engagement, fundraising initiatives, team development, and deployment operations as needed.
Hi everyone! My name is Brenda Belen, I am a law and science major student minoring in accounting. I am interested in becoming a lawyer or a auditor in the future. I have experience in legal research and tax cerificated through the IRS VITA program. Therefore, I am open to any experience and skill building. Outside of studies, I love trying new foods, dancing, and aiming to travel at least somewhere every summer. This summer I am heading to Spain and France! However, through this experience as an outreach coordinator I hope to gain more valuable skills in communication with important stakeholders, conduct any research, and be part of this amazing, lovely team, to continue to suceed in their goal.
My name is Felix Abarca. I am a LaGuardia Community College student with aspirations of getting my Bachelor’s in Accounting from Baruch. I have plans to get my CPA license and my master’s in Data Analytics. My career goal is to become a Corporate Accountant and pursue a career in Management Consulting. My goal at World Cares Center is to contribute and learn as much as I can, so I can use this experience further down my career. The role I have been given is what I plan on excelling at. I value being a supportive hand for an organization with a profound vision to help the people around them who need it the most.
Hi, My name is Victor. I have a deep interest in creating communities that look out for each other. I am studying at Baruch College with a major in Operations Management and Analytics. As an outreach and development intern, I am responsible to bridge between the World Cares Center’s mission and the resources needed to sustain it. I believe my role is the business side of “non profit”, which I pretty enjoy doing. Something that my grandma taught me was that if you want to go further, go together. I am so ready to be apart of WCC’s mission to empower the communities in need.
