  1. The exercise was great and very interactive! I have learned a lot about heat safety, specifically that heat stroke often seems like someone is drunk due to their slurred or slow speech. The blogs worked out well, too! My only issue was with what Joy mentioned about the specificity of the case studies, more information like location and specific tasks could help!

    1. It was helpful to have some hands on activities to better understand these concepts.
    2. It would have been more helpful to have more information like knowing the individuals more, having more information on things like the setting, time of day, etc. Having that can information can allow us to have better judgement.
    3. I would give more information and have different scenarios. Blog 2 and 3 is very similar. Having different questions can allow us to use more concepts.
    4. We used the groups and blogs to gather information and communicate with everyone.
    5. Yes for the most part. My kcc kept glitching and buffering at times but I was able to hand everything in.
    6. Having more concepts used and maybe even a multiple choice section.
    7. Yes I will.

    1. The lessons were very helpful in reinforcing lessons learned because it regains your memory back to help keep the information in your brain.
    2. Yes, the scenario provided more than enough information to participate because it listed all of the symptoms clearly.
    3. I wouldn’t do anything from my responses differently to improve the scenario.
    4. I used the training information from the KCC.
    5. Yes, the tools did work as expected.
    6. I have no improvements it was good.
    7. Yes, I will because it’s good to have knowledge about things you don’t think you need, when one day you will possibly need it.

The exercise was helpful since I had to think about the precautions I would take to ensure the volunteers were put into the right roles and were taken care of. The scenarios provided enough information to understand and make the needed decisions. I think it would be great if there was different difficulty levels with each scenario. Overall great exercise!

  5. 1. The exercise was helpful in reinforcing lessons learned on Heat Safety, I was able to share and read what my peers would do in each given scenario shown in the blogs.

    2. For the most part, the scenario did provide information needed to participate. I think more clarification could have been used when describing Louis as a senior. Some of the participants in the Zoom meeting either thought it meant Louis had a lot of experience in roofing while others thought the description was referring to his age.

    4. On the KCC, the tools I utilized were, groups, announcements and blogs.

    1. The exercise is helpful. When the weather is hot, we usually have to protect ourselves from the heat. To ensure I stay cool during the hot, I turned the air conditioner to ensure I stay cool and the room stays cool otherwise the room would be stuffy and I would be sweating.
    2. Yes, the scenario clearly shows how we take action on someone with heat relates issues to ensure we stay cool during hot weather.
    3. During hot weather, I would say “Turn on your air conditioners to stay cool. And drink a lot of water even if you didn’t feel thirsty”.
    4. “Plan for Hazards” page on the NYC.gov website
    5. Yes, protecting yourself from the heat is important! If you stay outside in the heat for too long, you could risk getting an illness.
    6. Why setting your air conditioner to be at around 78 degrees is more energy efficient and recommended
    7. I would definitely invite my team!
