According to FEMA, a Whole Community approach attempts to engage the full capacity of the private and nonprofit sectors, including businesses, faith-based and disability organizations, and the general public, in conjunction with the participation of local, tribal, state, territorial, and Federal governmental partners. This approach was adopted after Hurricane Katrina four years after the attacks of September 11, 2001 and the founding of World Cares Center. Through World Cares Center’s mission and programs we support this approach and provide the needed resources to ensure that when we ask individuals to step in, they are doing so with the training, knowledge and protective equipment to stay safe. This is one half of the equasion. The Collaborative Disaster Volunteer Credential called to action volunteer groups to audit and commit to utilizing a common training credential so that we can all work together seamlessly. House on this platform is the free self-paced training. The training is also offered via Zoom and in Person through World Cares Center. We encourage you to take the training, join the advisory board and stay connected. For the second part the the equasion, please read the communication and coordination blog
