Weekly Outline

# Week 1
– Complete CDVC Levels 1 to 3
– Meeting with Lisa on the direction
# Week 2
– Compile findings for CDVC
– HLC Program – study the existing guidebooks and journal. Research on basic & special needs and children reactions to disaster by age and development, as well as age-appropriate communications.
– Social media and marketing – study WCC’s social media platform and the national preparedness month page. Work on and discussing and formulating a marketing plan with Johnitta and Brenda, including a special event and social media calendar
– Conversation with Lisa on brainstorming knowledge management for long-term programme development
# Week 3
– HLC Program – Draft the supplementary content for the caregiver guidebook and journal. Meet with professional experts on children with autism. Draft a basic M&E plan for the HLC program, incorporating the protection, gender and inclusion approach.
– Social media and marketing – create content on the monthly theme. (Subject to the communications team meeting on Tues). Ideas on potential special event for WCC’s 25th anniversary.
– Connections – Conversations/ meetings with partner NGOs(common point/ American Red Cross) and/ or volunteers engaged in HLC sessions.
– Conversation with Lisa on the experiences and challenges on volunteer management and mobilization.

# Week 4
– HLC Program – Complete the layout of the supplementary content on Canva. Attend one HLC session, subject to availability. A list of findings and suggestions on emotional resiliency session will be submitted and discussed.
– Social media and marketing – Continue to create content on the monthly theme (subject to the communications team meeting on Tues).
– Visit – 911 memorial, office of emergency management (pending)
– 1 Debriefing session with Lisa on the whole placement programme and prepare transition notes.

Overall outputs of placement
# For WCC
HLC programme
– age-appropriate journal and relevant supplementary session in caregiver guidebook
– a brief knowledge management plan, including suggestions on doing mental health related needs assessment and monitoring tools
Social media and marketing
– A special event and social media calendar aligned with national preparedness month
– CDVC training completed and reviewed. List of findings to enhance training effectiveness submitted and discussed. Suggestions on promoting CDVC training submitted and discussed.

# For Kristen

Goal 1 – To learn how WCC delivers MHPSS to children and their families affected by disasters
– via studying the existing guidebooks and journal
– via attending at least 1 in-person session and meet with volunteers/ beneficiaries/ community partners
– via discussion with professional expert on autism
– via conversation with Lisa

Goal 2 – To learn how WCC mobilizes and manages volunteers in emergency setting
– via conversation with Lisa
– via formulating marketing strategy
– any engagement with volunteers/ board members of WCC would be highly appreciated
