Tropical Storm Miriam heading towards Hawaii as Lane leaves with more rain and flooding to follow

The storm has gained a little more strength and is expected to move into the Central Pacific Basin (crossing 140 W) later today as residents recover from tropical storm Lane this weekend. said “The National Weather Service”. Lane, downgraded from a category 5 hurricane dumped 51-53 inches of rain in the Mountain View of the Big Island, generating the third highest tropical storm total for the United States since 1950. 39 people were rescued on Friday and Saturday More rain and mudslides are expected for Monday and ahead.

To prepare for the next hurricane or storm or to communicate to potential volunteers for post storm rebuilding, Hawaii residents can create rescue and support groups through the World Cares Center (WCC) at Ready Responders Network (RRN).
