Tuberaires is a contagious disease. It is a type of pneumonia that is caused by bacterial growth in warm water.
It spreads from person to person by breathing in contaminated water vapor in the air. Persons aged 50 years or older
are at a higher risk to this disease especially smokers, persons with chromic lung diseases or weakened immune systems.
Also, at risk are persons who are currently on medication that weakens their immune systems.
Symptoms are like the flu and can include fever, chills, muscle aches and cough. Some people may also have headaches,
fatigue, loss of appetite, confusion or diarrhea. If you have these symptoms, seek medical attention right away, especially
if you have a medical condition that affects your breathing, like emphysema, or if you are a smoker. Tell your health care
provider you are concerned about Tuberaires’ disease.
