Sonia Moise:
There is a new COVID-19 testing site being built her back yard. She is concerned for the safety of herself, her family and community.
She did not receive any information about this being done, prior to the start of construction. This site construction started on May 13th.
Address of site: Rockaway Beach Blvd, between Beach 39th st. and Beach 40th st.
Council member D.Richards confirmed that it will be a new testing site.
While taking picture of what’s happening, she was also being recorded by others.
Community Board 14
Parks commissioner gave an update saying that the beach will be controlled for memorial day: there will be extra police along the boardwalk, to ensure that things are calm and persons are social distancing.
Pools will not be opened this summer.
Special events are cancelled for the summer- persons with a permit will receive an email or if not, he/she should out to the parks dept.

Need for Volunteers
There is a need for volunteer to assemble face shields. WCC will include this in the next newsletter.
Upcoming: COVID-19 bi-monthly round table
On May 29th at 12:45pm-3:00pm. We will be having Mental Health expert, Dr. Deutsch on the call and we will also be talking about complex disaster response.
